Choose Your Courses: First Grade

Welcome to The Good and the Beautiful First Grade

Our first-grade courses are simple and fun to teach! On this page, you will find everything your first grader needs to have a successful year. If you are new to The Good and the Beautiful and are unsure if this level is the best fit, take the Level Placement Tests for your child’s Language Arts and Math.

If you are ready to order, simply scroll down and click the “Add to Cart” button under the courses you need. For First Grade, we suggest the following courses:

Some optional Extras and Electives include: Typing 1, Creative Arts & Crafts Notebook; Nature Notebook; Birdwatching Notebook; Drawing Books

We suggest reading history picture books to children at this age. If you are doing our History Course Set with older children, first graders can participate and learn much by observing and using the corresponding History Activity Book.

Do you want to learn more about a course? To see sample pages of a course, click on “Sample Pages.” Or click on the course image or title to go to the product page where you will find full course descriptions and answers to FAQs as well as the option to purchase PDFs or individual course components. As always, our K–8 Language Arts and Math courses are available as free PDF downloads so you can explore the courses in-depth.

Science for Little Hearts and Hands

Many families find that teaching one Science for Little Hearts and Hands lesson per week or more is ideal. Each course will take one full school year to complete if it is completed at a pace of one lesson per week. If you plan to teach more than one lesson per week, we suggest also purchasing one of our other Science for Little Hearts and Hands courses as well.

New Science Activity Books for Grades K–2

Children in grades K–2 can now experience the joy and wonder of science alongside their older siblings with their very own Science Activity Books! Each book correlates to a Good and Beautiful science unit and is filled with fun activities, including mazes, coloring, matching, puzzles, and more, to keep your child engaged in science and nature.
