How This Course Works

Lesson Overview

This 120-lesson course is designed to be taught 4–5 days a week. Level 2 focuses heavily on phonics and reading, and requires daily one-on-one time with a parent or teacher.

Learning is a journey for children. While some children complete a lesson a day, others may move at a quicker or slower pace. Whatever the child’s pace, it is acceptable if he or she is enjoying learning and not feeling too rushed or overwhelmed. As you begin this course, watch for cues from your child that show how much work he or she can do in one session.

Easy-to-use Format

The lessons are laid out in an easy-to-use format. Blue text indicates instructions to you, the teacher, and black text is what you read to the child. While a child in The Good and the Beautiful Language Arts Level 1 course needs more one-on-one time with you, he or she also has independent work to do with each lesson.

Lessons prompt you when to use the Reading Booster B Cards and Books, the Homeschool App, and the Letter Tiles app.

Spelling Practice Book

The Level 3 Spelling Practice Book is integrated into this course. The course book tells you when and how to use this book. It is used about every other lesson.

Phonics Read-Together Books

The Level 3 Phonics Read-Together Books are integrated into the lessons in this course. Lessons direct the child when and what to read.

Answer Key

A Level 3 Answer Key is available in physical form or as a free download and includes answers only to select pages. Download the free PDF answer key or purchase a physical copy here.
